Looking for a solution to the high idle on my 98 Amigo 3.2 liter. The engine idles anywhere from 7500-2500 RPM depending on its mood. Sometimes I can go a week with it idling normal, then it shoots up high and stays there for 2-7 days usually. With it being colder out now, I'm seeing the idle as high as 2500 RPM in park.


The engine was recently rebuilt with a new shortblock, but idled perfectly before spinning a rod bearing. Does anyone have experience troubleshooting this problem? I've heard anything from p/s switch to poor electrical ground at the alternator.


Anyone have any other ideas? thanks
