Only 80K Miles but it's in the shop with issues. Hope I get it back soon!

Nice! I actually rebuilt my engine before it had 100K on it. One of the previous owners' daughter drove it without oil. The can be problematic. The same owner I referred to above had many issues with it and it was in the shop often. I'm glad about that because I've been driving it for several years with relatively no problems out of it, other than blowing the head gasket. But that was my fault....pulled a spark plug, let oil drip down into the cylinder, hydraulically blew the gasket after I put the plug back in. Oops.

What's going on with yours?

I just found out today it's the head gasket. The shop I took it to quoted over $1000 to do the gasket with no guarantee and $5000 for a new motor! I love this SUV but not that much! So, I bought the gasket, bolts, and timing belt and I have a friend that's doing it tomorrow. Also, the *** that sold the Amigo to me put head fix crap in the radiator so I didn't know it had that problem until I flushed the radiator (I maintain my cars) and orange crap, not rust, poured out: that's how I found the problem! I only have 80K miles on it and it looks new so I'm not about to get rid of it.

This is my second one by the way. The first one was totaled last July in a car accident. I bought a Saab right after and VERY SOON sold that crap-wagon because I missed my Amigo so much. They are fun to drive and mine still turns heads. I need to put a new top on and it will look 100%.
