I have a 95 Rodeo that theair intake hose hastorn off, I need to replace it but it is a dealer part and the dealer wants $143 for it. I went to the junk yard and got one off a 96 model. It is a one piece unit so this is the problem. On the 96 the hose is a single elbowed tube with a sensor in it. On my 95 it was a tube that looks the same but it has a plastic box attached to it about 4'' deep by 4'' wide and 4'' long. It is not running to anything but it must have some perpose. What is it? Does it matter if I get rid of the box?
