I have a 2004 Rodeo with 10k miles on it.I took it to Super Lube to have the oil changed at 5k and the technician told me there was no oil on the dip stick.I was really shocked but decided maybe the factory didn't put enough oil in it when manufactured. Well the other morning I cranked it up and I heard a rattling noise and then finally it smoothed out. I decided to check the oil and it was empty again. Well it's not leaking so the oil is going somewhere. I took it to the dealer and waiting to see if it needs a new motor.smileys/smiley19.gif

have you read the troopers' problem? same thing. i think all 3.2 isuzu's drink oil. you will have to live with it. either go to heavier oil like suggested by another or have them put more oil into the pan.


the other options are too costly.

Well the dealership finally decided it was so bad that they put me in a new engine.Hopefully I will have better luck with this engine.smileys/smiley1.gif smileys/smiley1.gif smileys/smiley1.gif

all isuzus drink oil to a greater or lesser degree.watch it close and keep it full.ive got a 3.2 dohc and its ate oil from day one.got 170000 miles on it.its hard to swallow-but thats the way a lot of them just are.
