What is it???? looks like oil filter
 

On the lower front of my 94 trooper with DOHC engine, i noticed what looks like some kind of pump with an oil filter attached but it has water hoses connected to it. WHAT IS THAT?

I had a Valve guide come loose and held one Exhaust valve open (hence, no compression on #2). Pulled the head (terrible job)
