What can i do?
Hi all new to the forum and new to isuzu. I have a 1997 4x4 auto trooper with a great engine (3.2l sohc) engine runs great and is strong. the only thing is that its been rolled. So ive been looking for a new body to drop my engine in. The ? is- what bodys can i fit my engine into? I found a 1995 limited with a blown engine will that work? i know the limited was a dohc? will and OBD2 engine work in a OBD1 trooper? Any info would be great as i wanna go buy the limited 1995 but dont want it to not work. Thanks in advanced.
I have. used google, tried other isuzu forums. Theres not alot of info on this subject that ive found helpfull. A lot about swapping to a GM engine but not what i want.
What I did was look up part numbers for a tranny rebuild kit for both vehicles, and found them to be the same.
As I was inputing the info for a 1995 trooper, I found that in 1995, the option was there for both a SOHC, and a DOHC. 89% of them were SOHC.
So, with that, I am going to say yes. I would definatly hold onto the donor vehicle until the swap is complete. You will probably need the ECU and possibly parts of the wiring harness.
