Trooper VS 4Runner
 

I had a 89 Trooper for 7 years and sold it and bought a 90 Toyota 4Runner. I miss the room inside the Trooper and I miss the ability to raise the seat height and get a good view of the hood and trail off road. I take my vehicles off road 4 - 5 times a year and also use it as a daily driver. I don't beat them up, but enjoy going off road.
How does the 98 - 2002 Trooper compare to the 1st gen Trooper: do they handle better on the highway, are they just as good off road, how much less height do they have inside tha cargo area, etc.?
How well do they compare to a 4Runner off road?
Has anyone raised a 98 - 2002 Trooper 3" and put 33x10.5 tires on them?

I have a 2000 Trooper and 2 1st gen (84 + 89) 4Runners. The 2nd gen (90-95) 4Runners are about the same size but without the removeable top. The Trooper is way bigger the the 4Runners and I think biggger than the 1st gen Troopers.
I've wheeled mine stock and it works well, but a little big for a lot of trails.
If you get one and want to lift it, go with an Old Man Emu suspension. I put one on a friends 94 Trooper and it rode and handled better than mine new.
