I have to make a choice between a 1993 Trooper and a 1998 Rodeo. I have no experience with Isuzu and would appreciate any help and advice.Both have roughly the same mileage(high miles) and the Trooper is cheaper by a couple of thousands. I have to make a decision within the next few days so any help would be much appreciated.

98,S ARE NICE AN HAVE NEWER FEATURES,BUT HAVE OIL CONSUMPTION ISSUES,WHICH MEAN WHO EVER OWNED IT BEFORE YOU MAY HAVE BEEN SLACK AN LET IT GO LOW ON OIL ,IT COULD HAVE A HIDDEN ENGINE PROBLEM FOR THE FUTURE.AN BEARING FAILURE.PERSONALLY THE OLDER YRS WERE MUCH MORE DURABLE.ALOT OF MEMBERS HERE WOULD AGREE..I WOULD TAKE THE 93 TROOPER.THE OLDERS DIDNT HAVE OIL BURNING PROBLEMS AS LONG IT WAS WELL KEPT.....HMMMMM...WHAT ELSE......THEY BOTH HAVE THE SAME TRANSMISSION ,ALSO ESP IF IT AN AUTOMATIC,THE 4L30E...WAS PRETTY GOOD IN THE OLDER YRS AGAIN AS LONG I T WAS WELL KEPT,THE 98,S DIDNT....98 ISUZUS AN UP REALLY HAVE TO BE SPOILED WHEN IT COMES TO MATINENCE TO UNLOCK IT,S DURABLITY.THE OLDER YRS WERE MUCH TOUGHER..........

 

all i can say is-if its an isuzu-watch the oil real close.dont ever take the oil level for granted and youll be ok.
