Tips on replacing starter 99 trooper?

I am replacing the starter on my 99 Trooper and am having problems getting to the bolts I need to take off. Any suggestions would be great.

Hello Shane,

http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_do_you..._isuzu_trooper

not sure if this will help but I am going to try it as well since I just purchased a trooper 99 and the starter needs to be replaced. Good luck, do you know where I can buy a manual for this car? I am going to be doing the oil change and tranny oil on it. I will also be doing the tune up and want a point of reference. Thanks

Be sure to disconnect the battery cable before starting !
Do not waste your money on the Factory Service Manual CD, I did and it's not very good.
If you have the auto trans, changing the ATF is a pain, there is no dipstick.

Thanks for this I've been browsing through this forum as I had a problem starting my car occasionally. I thought its the solenoid that is built in to the starter motor. I'll just try this. I hope it's easy. Thanks. http://www.supernissans.net/forums/i...lies/smily.gif

The solenoid is part of the starter and is sold with the starter. Which engine do you have. If it is the 3.2L you have to drop the exhaust from the manifolds and the cat. It is a y-pipe. also unplug the O2's on each side the once that is out of the way the started is fairly assessable.

Hope this helps.

Sorry that was supposed to say starter is fairly accessible :)

Isn't it so much fun pumping it in especially if you do not have a pumping set-up?? All that to save some money on a dipstick and try to force you to take it to the dealer or places like that to change the fluid!!!!!!
