Rippin apart a 93.

Hi, i'm new here.
I'm ripping apart a 93 Trooper for autobody, she's pretty rusted and is in need of some beauty work.

Anyways after lifting the drivers carpet to address a hole in the floor i encountered this slightly flexible coating about eighth to a sixteenth inch thick.

Not sure what it is, if its needed later etc.

ALSO, the frame on this beast is going, there is no rebar in the back for the bumper, i was surprised the bumper was still on there. the passenger side is fine however.

My only concern is around the torsion bar, the frame holding that is going. I don't know if making a patch out of 16g steel is safe or if a replacement is needed.

thanks.

theses things are rare around here, would like to see it get better.

Also, If anybody has a Rebar in good condition. Could you take a picture of it so i could remake one. I have no idea how its suppose to look. It wasn't there when i took the bumper on.

Not very lively indeed! :) Many forums I've visited have entered this realm.

If your still around, sounds like you have a lot of damage.

Can you post some pics or links thereof?

If you have too much damage, the rig may need to be "Retired." Safety is first. If the rust is too far advanced, your going to need to regroup and determine if the vehicle is worth saving.
