Isuzu Trooper/Holden Jackaroo transmission solenoids
Hi all. Greetings from "Down Under". I have a 2003 Holden Jackaroo which is the same as the Isuzu Trooper. I, like many others, have transmission troubles which I believe are solenoid issues. Like the Trooper, the Jackaroo has the 4L30e transmission. Can anybody tell me if the 4L30e transmission is different in models up to 1999, to the ones built after that date?
I'm looking to buy a solenoid kit for my Jackaroo, but the ones I see listed on Amazon state they are only up to 1999 and that 2000 and newer are different. The solenoids in the photo's look 100% exactly the same as the ones I pulled out of my 4L30e. Would be greatfull if anyone could help me with any info please.
Thanks in advance and Happy new year to you all.
Regards Trent

Check this site.
Some of the solenoids in the 4L30E are 1990-1999 or 2000-up, while others are 1990-up.
The 2 most commonly replaced are the 1-2/3-4 and the 2-3 shift solenoids, which I believe are 1990-up.
I replaced those 2 in my 2000 Trooper back in 2013.
Another thing that goes bad and can affect shifting is the range switch (aka mode switch) which mounts on the side of the trans and connects to the shifter, telling the trans what gear it should be in.
