How to get motor to turn 1987 trooper
 

I purchased this trooper new in 1987. We put 180000 on it. Had a few problems with it and set it up. It was in the weather and just set for seven years. Body is in great shape. I now want to get it running and rebuild. I pulled it into the dry. Cleaned it up. Checked fluids. Put gas into it. Put a battery to it. Turned to key. Nothing. Not really surprised, but would like to now start the journey. How do I get it to turn, or should I without first doing something else. Anyone have a check-list of getting started on a rebuild? Never rebuilt a car. Have done a lot with tractors and will do this. Any help?

SOUNDS LIKE A BAD GROUND... check and clean ALL GROUND WIRES if all grounds are good then it could be ummmmmmm??? just about anything
