Flotation tires-I need advice
Hey Folks: I own a 2000 Trooper S w/5speed manual. During the 2009/10 triple blizzards I got hopelessly stuck, needed to go on top of the snow, couldn't go through it. Can anyone recommend tire brand/size that will work as flotation without modifying the body and using the OE wheels? My Trooper is not my primary driver, used for dump runs, snow, and taking the dog to the vet.

OK, no answers so let me ask the question differently. How much tire does it take to get a Trooper on top of sand/snow as opposed to digging into it?

a 275/70R16 is 0.83" taller side wall height and 1.18" wider and should still fit. you may need to adjust the wheel stops so as to not hit the frame but it isn't neccesary.
