The 4WD only engages when the Trooper is cold i.e. on start up. If I push the switch after say 15 minutes the 4WD icon flashes only indicating that it has not engaged. Leave the Trooper for say an hour (maybe more) push the switch and ''Bingo'' it engages.


Any ideas on why this is and the solution would be appreciated.

This is my exact problem too! My 4x4 quit engaging last year (just before a Canadian winter!) when I had not used it for a while. The dash icon flashes, but the front axles do not engage. HELP US BOTH!!!
