Default Electric wing mirror problem

My wing mirror on the drivers side no longer goes in when button is pressed but if I pull it in manually then press the button it does go back out electrically. Any ideas on what might be the problem??

Does the mirror move up and down electrically as well?
Can you here an electric motor sound when you try to move the mirror in? If so then I would look for possibly a bind in the electric motor assy..otherwise you may just have a bad switch or bad contact in the switch. You could probably remove the switch and inspect the contacts..Start by listening for the motor sound then move to the switch.

Does it make an electric motor sound when you try to go the direction that isnt working..Like the motor is trying but the mirror will not move..You should have a power switch so you can move the mirror..I assume its on the dash or driver door..if you can hear the electric motor when the mirror moves in the "working" directions but cannot hear any motor sound when you try to move the mirror in the "non-working" direction.. then possibly the switch has a bad contact for the direction the mirror will not move in...?? If you DO hear the motor when trying to go in the "non-working" direction then you might have a mechanical bind or problem at the motor..make sense??

Then your switch is making good contact..Looks like you can get a brand used mirror off ebay for around 20 bucks..then you just unbolt your dead mirror and bolt a new one on and plug the harness in..Probably take 10 minutes..
Good luck!
