Acceleration uneven

Hi Everyone. New to this forum so all help much appreciated.
I have bought a 1992 Isuzu Bighorn (Trooper) 3.2 V6 DOHC with 160 000km on odometer. Engine and transmission appears to be fine although I have noticed on acceleration this action appears to be uneven - in the sense that the vehicle have light power-bursts whilst accelarating. Slow moving and stopping is noticeble when keeping a close look on rev counter meter. Not too sure - might this be a misfiring issue, or maybe timing, tuning or will a proper service hget this sorted? Thanks in advance
