have you tried an additive called seafoam?

Hey man that seems to be a prob with the valves. you should take your troop to a mechanic to check them out. Most probably its therocker adjustment that it's too loose.

It's the rockers in the valvetrain. Once good, viscous oil gets to them, they quiet down. My '94 Trooper 3.0L did that, and my current '96 Trooper 3.2L does it. I suspect an inherent design flaw. I've learned to live with it, and of course, I stay very current on oil changes! Cheers, David |
i have a 2001 trooper with 63k,the engine has just started to tick when

change your oil and add1 lucas oil treatment.also change your filter to a purolator.worked for me.whatever you do dont use a fram filter.worst on the market.
