'95 Trooper Rear Bump Stops? PLEASE HELP ME!!!
Hello, Isuzu community. I am a new member and a Second time Isuzu owner. First was a '97 Rodeo, loved it. I now have a '95 Trooper Limited. 3,2v DOHC 4x4. Sometimes when I accelerate from a red light/stop sign, the truck shakes. Sometimes it shakes do bad that the radio turns off for a brief second and the entire vehicle vibrates like I was driving a stick shift and I didn't know how to engage gears. (if that makes sense) I just replaced the shocks as of Saturday the 30th of March. My rear bump stops are gone. Just the flat rubber that attaches to the base plate still exists. Could this be my problem, really? I tried ordering a reasonably priced set from JC Whitney, but they were out of stock. The kid at the Isuzu dealership in Dallas had NO idea what I was talking about. I would more than appreciate some advice/help or a kick in the head. Thanks in advance.
I don't think your bump stops are the problem, if they were you would have to be doing some pretty hard accelerating to compress your leafs that far to engage them. Sounds like you're having transmission or rear axle issues. I'm assuming this since you didn't reference any engine problems. What happens at speed?
Thank you so much for responding. I feel the same way as you do. Sometimes it does it and other times it does not. Sometimes when I turn a corner with a green light, lay off the gas a little bit and then accelerate again, the engine "slips" for lack of a better word or description... This is only happening in low gear. At speed the engine is very strong and has decent cruising acceleration speed. It really only happens once the light turns green or when I slow down to make a right/left turn and give it gas.
As I said, the shocks are firms and BRAND NEW! If I am on a downgrade, it never happens. It happens a lot when I am on an upgrade or slight slope and the light turns green.
How can you check the rear axle for problems?
Thanks again for your input, it really means a lot.

It actually sounds like the clutch bands in the transmission are slipping. You'd be looking at replacement or rebuild to fix. After doing some research it seems as if your rear axle was going bad it would be pretty obvious. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
when was the last time you had the transmission flushed and the filter and gasket changed? ALERT! many quick lube places do not offer a complete service of the transmission and unless you know the difference you could be driving a yourself into problems quickly. a full service of the transmission includes dropping the pan and changing the filter it also includes a pressure controlled flush of all the transmissions fluids which must be done before the pan is dropped to be effective in removing any build up sludge.and because the pan has to be dropped in order to change the filter if it is not done first your new filter will be filled with sludge when the new fluid is flushed through the system this transmission filter must be changed every 50,000 miles I could be wrong on that but for most every other auto transmission I have owned that was a standard schedule of preventative maintenance might cost as much as 200.00 dollars US. but if it is done correctly 300,000 miles or more of trouble free driving? I am new to this forum as well but I have over 50 years of driving experience and I was a wheel`d vehicle mechanic and machinist in the service. I have built a few but never an isuzu but from what I have read and the way mine is operating I .....well I like it so far I have only been driving my Trooper for a few days now Yesterday morning the transmission slipped and missed a shift and the check transmission light flashed at me so I parked it and checked the fluid level it seemed okay and when I got back into the truck and started it up the light had stopped displaying now I don't have a driver manual on the vehicle and this warning incident does not go unmerited however I did go about my normal day made 2 loads of demolition debris about 3/4 ton of debris each time and about 30 miles round trip pull a trailer so 60 mile of moderate hard work up and down steep hills.....last return trip the transmission failed to engage reverse. unhooked the trailer and headed for home no problems in any forward gear and no flashing lights. called a few shops and inquired about transmission flush prices and process went into I was talking to LUBE IT USA andI asked what their process was and did they work on Isuzu troopers and were they aware of the different types of transmissions and that some of them require that the exhaust be partially disassembled in order to drop the tranny pan to remove and replace the filter and the person assured me that they know all about troopers. So i went down there I called first because i did not want to drive the vehicle on the possibly slipping transmission any more than necessary short of a tow truck. and while I am sitting in the vehicle talking to the job writter confirming the job order and process these guys are up with the hood and starting the process they believe I have purchased at a grand fee of 179.00 dollars US and then the service writer states OH! you have one of those transmission the requires the partial dis assembly and we don't do that you'll have to go to a garage and have that done. AND SO I ask "How do you intend to change the filter"? and he says casually "we don't we just flush the fluids until the fluids are clean and call it good". and I said stop what ever your doing down there and get me out of this shop because that service is almost a waste of time and I am not paying for it. and with that I started my engine just to prove a point with the whole RAPE process they tried to put on me because they think I want FAST service of my vehicle quickly and with rapid movement. well they are wrong in their think I don't want rapid fast service of anything I want patience and care and certain visual inspection and confirmed actual knowledge from experience and know how hands on trained individuals not a bunch of frolicing monkeys with tools and tubes of fluid.
in todays economy I don't have any of extra money I can never afford to waste it and so when I go shopping I look for the best value for my money. and even 2 for one coupons. and now I am looking for a garage because the one I have been going too for 20 years since I stopped working on my own vehicles does not work on Isuzu

Ok - I'll admit straight off that perhaps 'breakfast' is an exaggeration but judging by the ever present early morning queues outside Apple's flagship store here in London (just round the corner from TIME2 towers) Apple are doing something pretty special. Apple fans have speculated for some time now over the possible options for an iPod inspired watch and finally after years of eager product design student prototypes appearing on the internet Steve Jobs has made the dream a reality. He even joked at the new iPod Nano launch earlier this year "One of the members of our Board of Directors is going to use it as a watch...". Within a matter of hours enterprising members of the public were speculating about how they might wear the latest 'gotta have it' accessory as Flickr ably demonstrates replica a lange & sohne tourbograph pour le merite and there are now a host of online examples - from sleek to sporty vacheron constantin replica showing off this latest trend. I haven't seen iStraps on sale in Regent Street yet but you can bet they're on the way. Photo credits: Gizmodo Cultofmac
