Took off trans pan and changed filter & partial fluid change. Will not shift into any gear now, rpm''s seam to increase when going from park into any gear.[img]smileys/smiley3.gif[/img]


Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

 

I am no mechanic but this is what my mechanic told me. I went in for another issue and said go ahead and change the tranny fluid while I am in here. He asked if it had been done on a regularly scheduled basis. It is a used vehicle and I told him I was not sure. He then said check the fluid level and leave it, because the fluid forms a protective film/barrier over time. And if you change the fluid you will loose that barrier and have problems then on out. Hope this helps a little.

 

Try changing the fluid (full change) and flushing the trany. Change the filter again too. Partial fluid changes never turn into anything good. The stuff about just leaving it, is all crap. Shadtree thief mechanics tell people crap like that. As a mechanic I can say I hate to hear that some ***** mechanic said that, but it does happen. Good luck, and start changing your trany fluid on time.
