92Trooper starting trouble

My son has a 92 Trooper, manual transmission, that won't start when the engine is warm. You have to let it sit for 30 to 45 mIns before it will restart. We tried changing the crankshaft sensor but that didn't help. Anyone know of a fix for this problem?
