I've been looking for the towing rating of my 2002 trooper. I've seen the general consensus was 5,000 lbs. One suggestion was to look at the sticker on the driver side door. I checked mine and the sticker says nothing about towing. So my question is are all trooper's rated for 5,000 lbs, or do I need to make some changes to the original equipment. Thanks.

 

I have a 2002 Trooper and tow a 19 foot center console boat , utility trailers with no problem

I know 98-02 are all same , with body base style and parts,

minus the 3.2 / 3.5 l engine difference.

 

3500# trailer and load, 5000# with electric trailer brake.
I flat tow my rock crawling rig with my Trooper. It's 3500# or so, and I wouldn't tow anything heavier.
