2001 Trooper coolant leak
 

01 trooper, I see coolant on ground at front of engine. I see drops on pan, but nothing up high around hoses, pump, or radiator. Any help is appreciated.

Had this issua on my '01 and ended up taking it to a mechanic (I'm not much of one by the way!). They did some kind of test with a dye to trace where it was coming from. It ended up being really hard to get to and costing a lot of money... So, if you can get someone that might know something about the coolant system, I'd definitely try all my options first!

I'e been through this twice on my 94. It's the weep hole in the timing belt cover and it's also your water pump. The WP is behind the timing belt so replace it along with the tensioner while you're in there. My local mech gets about $600 for the job. Welcome to the money pit.
