2000 trooper disappearing oil

My mechanics and myself are totally stumped. My trooper eats a quart of oil a week we have replaced the pcv valve it didnt work. It doesnt leak it doesnt smoke it doesnt tick no check engine lights it runs great. The oil just vanishes. So if you have any ideas or suggestions that would be great.

same issue here. I am finding out that these motors are known for basically eating oil. The local izusu dealer tells people to keep at least a quart of oil around as they know of the issue. My wifes trooper literally drinks oil some weeks and no oil others.

I am an original owner of a 2000 trooper 2wd. Using the 120,000 warranty, I had Isuzu install a new engine at 118500 miles because my engine was burning more that a quart of oil per 1K miles. They did some kind of a leak down test to determine this. It is a very common problem for the 3.5 ltr engines.

If you have not exceeded 120K miles, you may want to see the dealer and let them know your concerns.

Good luck
