Does anyone have the original owner's manual for a 1996 Isuzu Trooper? I recently purchased one as a project for myself. I don't have a manual. What I'd really like to have are copies of the pages on engaging 4WD. I'd be happy to send money to someone via PayPal if they could fax or email those pages to me.

Thanks!

1997 should work. I'm pretty sure they're all the same through 1999. I'd be happy to send you some money through PayPal for your time and effort. My fax # 502-245-5517. Please send it to my attention.

Thanks,

Josh

I havent really found a section in my owners manual that talks about using the 4-wheel drive. Now on my drivers side sun visior there is a info card stuck to it that does explain how to use it. Do you have one of those?

No, my visor doesn't have anything on it. If you search for Isuzu Trooper on Wikipedia, there's a blurb that the 4WD changed in 1996 (my year) but only on certain models (not mine). So, your information may not even apply to my vehicle. I just hate to slam it into 4WD not knowing for sure if I'm trashing the tranny.

I doubt it has shift on the fly. Trash the tranny no but maybe the transfer case. Best bet is to push to into netural then shift into 4H at the most 10 mph then back to drive. 4L probably come to a stop. If it doesnt like it it will grind. But dont slam it just ease it and try it out. If it goes right in to 4H while rolling then try slamming it!

My 96 has shift on the fly and can engage in 4h up to 60mph, 4l is a max speed of 10mph. Hope this helps!

My '96 prefers that I stop & shift into neutral before putting in 4-H or L, because it jerks like a dirty dog if I don't.
