1994 Isuzu trooper, I need help!!
Hey everyone, Im new to the forum and just recently purchased a 1994 isuzu trooper. I took it into a recommended mechanic to be safety certified, and he came back to me saying several things needed to be done.
One was the CV shaft needed to be replaced, the U joints, and the list goes on. I had told him that there were some strange grinding noises coming from the vehicle, that were remedied ( temporarily ) when I would drop it into 4x4 and then drop it back into 2 wheel drive. He thinks this could be a problem with the "knuckle" of the CV shaft assembly? After replacing all the parts that needed to be replaced to pass my safety inspection, I hear a new squealing noise coming from my front left wheel area. I am unsure what it is but now they say that knuckle needs to be replaced. I am unsure what to do now, as I love this vehicle, and it seemed to run much better before the CV shaft was replaced. Will replacing the "knuckle" eliminate this grinding noise?? Could it be a problem with the auto-locking hubs that is creating the noise? Any help would be appreciated!
