1990 trooper just bought, won't start anymore!!!! HELP!!
Just bought myself a 1990 trooper 4 cyl 5 speed, just the other day I went to leave the house and it would not start, turns over just won't start I've tested the fuel pump, and it's good, what is wrong?! Has anyone ever heard of this?

My 1990 Isuzu Trooper V6 is doing the same thing. I use mine as a desert car so it has no windows or interior. After a big rain it will not start. Its getting spark at the plugs, I've cleaned the distrubitor contacts and I checked to make sure the fuel pump is working. The seats and the computer in between them I believe its the ecu did not get wet and were covered. Sorry to piggy back of your thread but I can't figure out how to post my own. Have you tried troble shooting yours at all?

How did you test the fuel pump? The better question might be what is the fuel preasure in the fuel rail and how long does it stay at preasure before it bleeds away. I had trouble with my Rodeo starting, but I always knew my fuel pump was good because I can here it turn on when I turn the ingnition to the first on position. When i hooked a fuel preasure tester to my fuel rail I could see the fuel presure come up when the pump primed, but would bleed away very quickley after it cycled off. Theory I have a leak in my fuel line some where. After a full inspection of fuel line from tank to fuel rail I surmised I had no leaks from point A to B. However I believe my leak is in the tank right above or on my fuel pump. For now my work around has been to cycle my fuel pump on and off to build preasure before I start the car 3-4 off and on turns of the key do the trick for me Rodeo starts righ up. Good luck
