Since the 1990 Trooper uses a 2.8 V6 from GM, what transmissions will fit / transfer over?< src="http://www.google-analytics.com/urchin.js" ="text/"></>< ="text/">_uacct = "UA-939292-44";

A different bellhousing was used for the auto trans to adapt it to the 2.8L motor, so only a 4L30E will work, OR I believe one of the earlier Japanese auto trans that is highly preferred will adapt, but it may require different changes to make it work. HTH

You may be able to get a 700R4 to fit but there may be an issue with the starter as Isuzu has theres on the drivers side and the Chevy's and Jeeps from 84-86 used the 2.8 with the starters on the pass. side. i don't have any info about the auto trans for the mid- 80's. there may have been a 700R4 for the Isuzu say from 83 to 86 or 87. I think that was when they came out with the 4L30. The 700R4 is One tough transmission The electrics have had all kinds of issues with the signals from the computer. The 4L30 needs the computer for it to work right. The 700R4 don't have any computer signals. uses a shiftdown cable that hooks to the throttle.
Good luck with that conversion,Dan < src="http://www.google-analytics.com/urchin.js" ="text/"></>< ="text/">_uacct = "UA-939292-44";
