I have raised the front end on my 99 by 1.5 inches without much effort. I'm pretty sure I can get another 2 out of them because I think I only raised it to original ride height.


Maybe I missed it but depending on the year (coil spring rear or leafs) you can add a new set of rear coils for probably around $100.00 or so. Trouble is, you will have to get them wound by a spring maker. I wouldn't bother about looking for after market springs, I'm pretty sure they don't exist. I actually had a 4x4 shop laugh at me when I asked. I have heard that Trooper springs fit and will give about 2"s of lift. Careful you don't go overboard or will have other problemsconstantly stretched brake lines or prematurely worn joints of various types. One other option I have found is a lift by Crimini (I think it's crimini.com). They are one of the only aftermarket supplier for Rodeos and make the only lifts for gen 2 and 3 rodeos (post leafspring). A lot more money but if you want it done right, probably the way to go. Looks like nice stuff. Then again, I'm going for the wound coils cause I only want another inch or so and better towability.

Old Man Emu makes springs for rodeo/trooper. The 912's will give a rodeo about 3" of lift in the back. You can get them from Matt at www.independent4x.com used to be able to get them from darlington offroad too butJoe is closing shop soon for personal reasons. If yours is leaf sprung in the rear you can also get longer shackles from the same place.


Calmini is an ok lift, there are alot of parts in the kit you dont need and its expensive. There have also been problems with the dropped UCAs not fitting some years.


If yours has the drive flanges on front (98-01 rodeo) instead of hubs then it would be best to add manual locking hubs as well. You will go through alot of cv joint boots otherwise.

independent4x.com has everything you'd need for cheap.


a body lift would be pretty cheap... granted you wouldn't want to take turns too fast, but hey its worth a shot right?
