Hi all


I have a 1998 rodeo ls 3.2 v6 4x4. The suspension sucks!! At very low speed I can bottom out the suspension going over a speed bump! It does not keep bouncing like it would if the shocks were shot. If you look at it from the side it sits nice and level. I'm thinking it may need new coil springs in the back..but what do you do for the front?? Also I've tried to get a price on new coils, but so far no luck in finding an auto parts store that can order them (I'm in Vancouver B.C. Canada). Will the coil springs from a trooper fit?? Any ideas??

Trooper springs will lift the rear about an inch. OME 912 springs from independent4x will give 3 inches but ride really nice. Then you just crank the t-bars in the front to match. I'm betting its just the shocks though. You'd be amazed at what a difference good shocks can make. Especially if you are still running stock factory shocks. Mine rode like an ocean liner with worn out stock ones. I put on some monroe sensa tracs and it rode much better on the street but still bottomed out easily offroad (even with OME springs in the rear). I changed those out with Rancho 9000 shocks and it made a huge difference. urchinTracker();</>I also know what you are going through. I did require new shocks. I replaced them with Monroe sensa trac shocks. Although there is a significant difference from before , I still don't feel satisfied. Friends tell me, thats its the size of my truck, and thats how they are, but I don't accept that. I plan on replacing the Monroes once I find another pair of shocks that will deliver the super smooth ride my car is capable of.

Doubt you'll ever get a super smooth ride because its NOT a car. Its a truck based SUV with full frame and truck suspension. Thats the main reason I bought one.
