All

I have a 2001 Isuzu Rodeo LS V6 4wd. The Engine Starts up fine and revs out good, but when I place the Transmission in drive or reverse the idle drop to around 0-200 rpm. I have also notice this happen when I turn on the rear defogger. The Check Engine and Check Trans Lights are on, but I get no codes from the ECU. I tested the alternator by disconnecting the battery and the roof light flickers is this the source of my problem. I do not want to start throwing parts at it. Could it be a broken wire?

all suggestions are welcome.

Thanks

Also found out tonight while topping up the transmission fuid that the right muffuler was cold to touch even though the engine was running. further diag revealed that the right side of the engine does not fire the coils. What voltages should i be checking for at the coil harness, I believe I have a broken wire since i repaied the vehicle after a crash.

I traced back the three coil wires to the ecu and they all make contact to the ecu. Could mu ecu be bad. My number on the ecu are

8093561590

09356159

3.2L Aut Aus

can i use a US ecu with cal emissions

The problem was the timimg on the left cylinder head it was out you have to rotate an additional 90 degress for perfect timing other than that it shut down the right side of the enginge because the cam shaft sensor does not sense the position to fire

Good job finding the problem. I would have guessed alternator or broken wire to the ecu.
