Hi Maybe someone can help me. I just purchased a 2001 Isuzu Rodeo Sport. And I was wondering if there was anyway to find out if there is a remote door opener in the car without removing the door panel? Also If I do need one could anyone recommend somewhere to buy one reasonable? Thanks Brian

Doughboy,

call your dealer. he can look up the vin and tell you what options your truck was sold with. I did this for a 1997 pathfinder. Also if you do not have a door opener/unlocker you can buy a very inexpensive system from JC Whitney for 39.99. I have use these on several police vehicles for my canine systems. they are easy to install and are very rugged, but they are limited to locking and unlocking your locks only. Of course you can buy an alarm system but that would cost several hundred and can be difficult to install.

Thanks Rich for your help... If you wouldn't mind me asking would both doors and the rear door have to be removed(opened up) to install the system? Also would you happen to know anything about the remote start-up systems (are they hard to install)? Thanks again for your help.

Brian,

When I did mine, I connected to the underside of the dash if you can find the right wire. Its give pretty good directions with it, but you may need to do some searching for a wire color diagram. There are several sights you can go to for this though. I did not have to open any door. Also the starting systems you are inquireing about are very tedious to install. I know quite a bit about cars and have done 4 of theses systems. I would not recomend doing it yourself unless you have a whole lot of patience. It takes me about 3-4 hours( I am very **** about running the wires and I solder all connections). It can be very frustrating. If you really want one go to circuit city or best buy and pay a coulple of hundred dollars and have one installed. I don't use mine that much thoug, only when its very cold and I start in in the mornig or when leaving work.

write back if you hqave any other questions.
