If your gas gauge is not working and you may have a check engine light on as well then you need a new fuel sending unit. Dealers may tell you that you need a new fuel pump and that a fuel sending unit is not available for your vehicle. However, this is not that case. I have Isuzu OEM/Factory fuel sending units that will fit any Rodeo and Passport from 1998-2002. You will not need to recalibrate anything and it should cost no more than $150 to install, or you can do it yourself in under 2 hours! This unit WILL fix you problem. Do not let the dealer rip you off! I fixed mine in my 2000 Rodeo 4x4 and figured I may as well help others out and save other hundreds of dollars. They must have raised their prices. Was $35 when I called them in october. I got my dealer to match them so just bought it locally. Was just giving another option. Some ppl dont trust buying stuff from ebay or ppl they dont know.

The fuel sending unit is covered under the power train warranty. We had ours fixed under this warranty.

I am not sure that everyone is aware of that.

Good luck getting it covered under the powertrain warranty. I tried at 50,000 miles (still 10,000 left) and the dealer told me no. My goal is to save people from spending over $500 for a fuel pump when they do not need the pump - as the dealers say. Thx-

I had heard that some people had problems with this, but the dealer that I went to didn't give me any grief.

The one person that had problems,(with a different dealer), contacted
Isuzu's corporate office and they got the unit changed for them.

Your right that Isuzu will also change the fuel pump, but everything is covered under the powertrain warranty.
