Default Rear differential pin removal...

So,i have removed all components nessecary to remove the axles in order to replace the carrier and pinion bearings in my 97 rodeo. The only issue I am having is rmoving the large pin that will alllow me to push the axles in to remove the clips.Ihave driven out the sall roll pin,but it seems as though the pin wil not clear the ring gear so I can remove the spider gear and push the axles in an remove the clips so that i can remove the axles. Can someone who has done this shoot me some advice,as a side note it does appear that i can remove the bolts holding the ring gear to the actual differential andthen kinda manuveur the pin out,but i have never had to do ne thing like that so am i missing something or is this how it must be done. Thanks in advance for any advice, tips on this procedure.btw ithe differential is a 4.13-1 lsdor(430-1) dont recall and its cold outside..lol
