Hey all... new to the forum here. I''ve had a ''94 Rodeo for about 8 months. During Tropical Storm Fay, my area got flooded pretty badly and I was out having fun/getting supplies. I drove into a puddle a little too fast and water went everywhere. Now, my alternator is not charging, the blower/air conditioner is not working, and the brake light, charging light, and low fuel light are on. Is this all because I fried the alternator? |
Yes classic signs of a bad alternator. The ECU monitors the alt and if see''s that its failing will shut down "unnecessary" accessories like the blower motor and a/c. Must have been some pretty dirty water. Usually clean ish water doesnt effect them but dirty/muddy water will kill them quickly.
Isuzus are picky about alternators too. Dont get a box store brand generic one, it will die within a few months. The ones that have been proven to last are OEM, OEM rebuilt by Bosch, and napa brand. |
I''ve heard the same from a few people now. Thanks a lot for the advice!
