No Clutch Pedal Back Pressure 1998 Rodeo
I have a 1998 4x4 Rodeo with a manual transmission that I just got. The clutch pedal stays down and has no back pressure. I checked the master cylinder and there was no fluid. I removed 2 view ports on the transmission near the slave cylinder and didn't see any fluid. Checked around the lines but not everywhere and didn't see any leaks. Then i added fluid to the master cylinder and it didn't take much to top it off. Then I tried bleeding it a couple pushes of the pedal and fluid came out of the bleeding screw but there was still no back pressure on the pedal. So I'm not sure what the deal is with there being no pedal back pressure? sounds like the the slave cylinder is bad right? or maybe a leak and i need to bleed the system more before the pressure comes back? And what size tube should I get to fit the bleeding screw? Thanks
I recently had the same problem. The empty resivor indicates a problem. I didn't want any problems, so I just replaced both parts. Autozone has both for $45. Install, bleed the system and you're back underway. It took less than an hour to fix and be moving again.
