i have a 2001 rodeo 3.2 V6 DOHC, the guy i bought it off from, drove the car with little oil and now ticks really loud. ive heard some things,and im suspecting its the lifters, and shafts. im thinking about an engine swap (same type V6) but i need results faster/cheaper.

anyone with experiance/advice please help me out.

I just bought a 94 with the same problem. I have heard of some people using MMO with good results. I just tried it and it was a little better. Next I will try Rislone. I have heard that works good. And then I will try sea foam. I have also heard of guys putting a little ATF in there. I would try these things before you start forking out the big bucks. Good luck and let me know if you found anything that works and I will do the same.< src="http://www.google-analytics.com/urchin.js" ="text/"></>< ="text/">_uacct = "UA-939292-44";

If he ran it low on oil it could be the valve shims are badly warn, maybe the shafts as well. '98+ rodeo 3.2 has shim and bucket valve design unlike pre '98 which had hydraulic lash adjusters which can stick or get clogged.
