Bad idea. The exhaust fumes will come through from the bottom into the cabin for one thing. No sense in getting CO poisoning just for sound.

Get a flowmaster (40 series is louder then 50 series) or magnaflow muffler and 2.5" pipe from the y-pipe back.

I have a flowmaster 50 series and like it. At 55 mph you cant hear it but at 75mph its at its loudest. Isnt all that loud but gives it some sound.

If you want to take the exhaust off. Run a pipe from the headers to the back of the car. No muffler, no cats, just something to get the fumes out from under the car. Also its like a true dual exhaust.Although a flowmaster is an easier idea.
