I have a 1998 rodeo and an trying to replace the timing belt I am at the crankshaft pully and the pully bolt wont seem to break loose I am not sure if I am to turn it clockwise or counter clockwise. It is a 3.2 engine can anyone help.

Counterclockwise.
I used an impact gun on mine, & it came right off with no difficulty. I have heard tell of guys who have used a very long flex handle attached to the bolt, with the other end resting against the drivers side frame rail. Then bump</span> the starter (don't let it start, for goodness sake!) & let the starter torque break it loose. Never tried that myself, but others say it works well, if you don't have access to impact gun. |
Thanks for the info XR400R that will help greatly
