So I finally had my clutch replaced after 170,000 miles. It seemed to work perfectly but after a week I began noticing that sometimes when I hit the gas the RPM's are going up but their is not proper power transfer. It also seems only to do it in the higher gears. I definitely plan on taking the car back into the shop but would like to get some opinions so I know what to ask. sounds like your clutch is slipping. was your flywheel resurfaced? and if so how many thousands did they remove from the flywheel surface. sounds to me like you need a new flywheel, clutch and pressure plate . there is no adjustment on hyd clutches other than shimming the pressure plate. also did you break in the clutch properly? any way good luck. I had the understanding they replaced the clutch, pressure plate, and turned the flywheel. I am going to take it back in this week. I really don''t know how to "break in the clutch", I drove on the old one for 170,000 miles so I figure I was driving it ok. I guess I am just going to tell them it is slipping. thanks

There is some adjustment on the linkage between the clutch pedal and the hyd. cylinder. From inside the vehicle you can loosen the locknut and turn the rod that goes to the hyd. cylinder to make the clutch engage or disengage at different points.
