I just recently had an experience where I thought that I might be
having transmission problems. When ever my 2001 Rodeo would get to the speed where it should either shift to or out of 2nd gear it would have trouble (no power). However, I didn't have a CEL indication. I took it to the dealer, and it turned out to be a clogged EGR and throttle body assembly. WHen either of these are clogged, shouldn't there have been a CEL? YES ,but the egr would set an insufficent flow code when it gets tooclogged .they proably told you that because while they are replacing the t-body the egr passage is very accessably then.they cleaned it now to avoid a future check engine light later an more diag time.the real problem was more than likely the t-body setting a tps failure an going into a reduce power mode.isuzu went to that electronic t-body those yrs.an has been having problems with it ever since.they should have stayed with the gas cable.

Thanks.
I have one more question Where is the throttle body located? Is it connected to the air intake from the air filter? |
