Can't get my rodeo timed right!! Help please,
I recently replaced the head gasket on my 2001 Rodeo 2.2l . It was pretty straight forward and I feel very comfortable with the work I did. When I went to put the timing belt back on, I have tried and tried to get it done right, but it always ends up at least one tooth off. Any help with that would be appreciated.
I believe that the following is the result of bad timing, but I want to know what you think. It always starts right up on the first try. but once it settles into its Idle, the RPMs keep dropping until it stops running. I can rev the engine and it sounds great, but when I put into gear, there is absolutely NO power. I can have it floored and it barely over power the slope of my driveway (which isnt that bad).
I have tried the firing order, new spark plugs, EGR valve, Catalitic Converter, new timing belt tensioner and checked vacuum hoses (sprayed with starting fluid).
I can't figure it out, and Im losing all my hair. Any help would be appreciated.
