the truck is a 1994 isuzu, 3.2 liter, v6. 4 wheel drive. it had been doing this for about a month. some people had suggested that it might be some kink of sensor. but im a retard when it comes to mechanics. it never happens at the same time during acceleration. every day it happens at different times. its like the engine shuts off for a second and then turns back on.

when it goes off, and back on..do you do anything to make it come back on?? have you checked simple things like the battery terminals?

yes i checked the battery terminals and nothing was wrong. i have to take my foot off the gas for it to come back on and stop bucking, otherwise it would just continue to buck.

I have experienced very similar vehicle"bucking" however mine (1992 Troop 3.2 SOHC 5 spd.) only does it at start of movement from stop. I've driven alot of standard trans. vehics. and seems this one is real tricky to get the clutch release coordination right without experiencing the very "bucking" symptoms described here. I have changed all filters, checked all fluids (I even tried different weights of gear oil in the rear end and trans.- including an additive specifically designed by G.M.for Limited Slip rear differentials- which supposedly can cause similar symptoms). Complete tune up ( I am running Bosch Platinum plugsbut they are just the standard tip-not the multi tip) It was doing this from day I bought it but figured I just needed to get used to the feel of the vehicles individual operation...everything else was great about it. To rehash...when I let the clutch go (at normal slow release) the truck "bucks" until I either push the clutch back in and hold itor shift to a higher gear. I've noticed it does'nt seem to do it quite as bad if I start out in 2nd gear. Now that I think about it any slow travel in 1st and sometimes 2nd gear it bucks. The truck does have pretty high mileage (203K) but runs good and strong in all other regards. Recently had the timing belt, water pump, cam and crank seals, spark plug tube seals, plenum and valve cover gaskets all replaced...not that I was expecting it but there was no difference in performance. I veryrecently changed out the high pres. power steering hose due to deterioration leak. Since thentruck has developed a "Tick" which corrosponds to R.P.M.... was ther before but very light.I read a thread describing possible causes for this(i.e. lifters,worn/loose timing belt tensioner...don't think mine was replaced when timing belt was done)Since this happened imediately post P.S. hose replacement is it possible or probable for power steering to create this type of noise. It is functioning A-O.K. and there are no more leaks. Some mentioned bleeding the system? After repair I refilled resevoir turned wheel full width back and forth several times and topped off fluid which has maintained level. Is this sufficient? I know I'm a newby to this forum...and according to what I've read herein I'm very glad to have found a knowledgable and, hopefully reliable, source for help and info.as I am Trooperenthusiest and "shade tree mechanic" out of necessity since I can't afford to pay someone$90. bucks an hour when I only make about 12% of that. I also realize this is a rather lengthy entry...especially as my first...but I hope some light can be shed on these matters of question. Thanx, T. Edited by: T.A. Green
