black smoke and slow acceleration

i drive a 94 isuzu rodeo 4x4 LS. recently, there has been black smoke exiting the exhaust and sluggish acceleration. im fairly new with rodeos and any help is much appreciated. thank you.

is check engine light on?get it to a shop an have the oxygen sensor checked,
