Hi,
A couple days ago I started to hear a banging noise coming from the front
driver side. I had it checked out and my mechanic said I needed to get new
shocks, well I had that done today and I still hear the noise. I checked
underneath and nothing seems to by loose. I think it might be the shaft.
BTW I have a 95.5 Isuzu Rodeo 4x4.

Check the clearance between the anti sway bar and the shock. They are a close fit with stock shocks and may hit with larger after market ones. Also try pushing the sway bar back and forth. If the mount bushings are bad you will be able to push it and it might be moving while driving and hitting the shock. I need to replace mine, it does that. Another thing to look at is the sway bar end links. If those bushings are bad or the link is broken it can make alot of noise.

You might also check your motor mounts. A broken mountcan cause a banging noise when you shift.
