Hey everybody, new guy here.


I''m looking at buying a 2002 LS 4x4 for my daughter. It is a one-owner vehicle (65k miles), immaculate besides a couple door dings, all maintenance is shown on the Carfax report.


Any issues I should be looking for? I tried a search, but didn''t come up with much any help is greatly appreciated.

 

The only real issues on an ''02 would be the same as with any 2nd gen rodeo (''98+). Keep the EGR system clean and use a good high detergent oil (rotella T diesel oil) or good synthetic. These engines tend to clog the oil holes in the pistons then burn oil. If you do what I mentioned it should keep them clean so no oil burning. But still need to check oil level often.
