'99 3.2 v6 fuel pressure regulator replacement
My '99 Rodeo began emitting a raw gasoline odor from under the hood. After lots of looking and testing I found the fuel pressure regulator to be leaking fuel into the vacuum hose which is connected at the top of the regulator. I assume the diaphragm inside the regulator has a pin hole. The regulator is permanently fixed to the fuel rail and has a "C" clip retaining the regulator housing cap. It appears to me that this repair is something I could accomplish in my garage i.e. no special tools etc. Am I right about that?
Also, I assume the vacuum hose that attaches to the regulator top is in fact a vacuum hose. However, when I remove it from the regulator I cannot feel vacuum either at idle or when I rev the motor. Should I feel vacuum at the end of this hose?
Thanks in advance for advice.
Leon
