I have a 94 rodeo and the car runs ok, but mysteriously the car loses power and dies on me at times. It happens most often when Im cruising at a speed on the interstate and get off at an exit and break hard..the car will just die..Also, we have a huge bridge here in Charleston, SC and when I go over the bridge to Mt. Pleasant (on a steep decline) the car dies a lot at the bottom of the bridge. Is this something with the fuel injector? Also, I just had the radiator, battery, timing belt tensioner, valve gasket, valve plugs replaced so the car runs great, but also Im noticing that the volt meter on the battery is wabbling between 14 and 16...seems to run at 14v till the car dies, once i get it restarted, it wabbles between 14 and 16...Thanks guys

Is the battery cables and terminalsclean and are they tight? Sounds like when you hit something jarring that something gets lose and cuts off power. I really know nothing about electronics but have had a similar problem in the past. I would also bring the alternator in to get tested, should be free at most parts stores.

I have a 94 Rodeo with somewhat the same problem. It turned out to be the wires that run to the fuel pump. Be cruising down the road then lose power the cel comes on. Slow down to 40 and the light goes out and runs fine. I have replaced sections of this connection and now going to replace the entire harness. It's a simple check turn on the ignition and go back and listen to the fuel pump. Wiggle the wires going to the pump. Mine was going off and on depending which way it was twisted. Mine has gone through 13 Western NY winters lots of salt. Hope this helps if not you someone else with this problem...Ed
