I had the engine replaced in my 2000 rodeo about a month ago and since then have had a problem with the engine going into limp or safe mode when it idles for more than a couple of minutes. We have replaced the ion-sensor, and the computer to no avail. I am at the end of my rope and my the bottom of my pocket book. Does anybody have any idea what the problem could be? Thanks

 

Is it throwing any codes or check engine light? If it is going into limp mode it should be throwing a code as to the reason why.
