00 Honda Passport A/C problems..HELP!
#1
This is a rebadged isuzu BTW.
Anyway, it belongs to a buddy of mine and we have been working on the a/c without getting to the point of a fix.
The air blows hot so I hooked up gauges and found pressure to be about 120 PSI on the high side and 115 on the low. The compressor clutch was coming on properly so I figured it was a bad expansion valve.
About 2 hours and 15 pounds of sweat later I pull a vac on the system after replacing the dryer as well. She holds good so I go to refill the system and the low side will read about 70 PSI and stop taking 134a from the can around that point. The high side reads about 40 PSI and pressure is very slow to build.
Even when you race the engine to turn the compressor faster the suction on the low pressure side is zero and the can stays 3/4 full on the charging line.
I assume the compressor is faulty so we will get a used one soon.
What do you think?
BTW, how does the serpentine belt come off? This is not my car so I do not know all of this vehicle specific stuff. PICs would be great it you can post; of which idler pulley to loosen.
THANKS!
