FS: 1998 Rodeo V6 3.2 4WD 180K(mi) 5-sp MT with front-end damage
Long time listener, first time posting :)
This forum has help solve a lot of the known issues we've encountered encountered with the car over the course of 11 years owning it. My wife bought it off her sister in 2003, who bought it new in 1998. Winter was bad this year, and my wife didn't to put it in 4WD when it got slippery within a 1/2 mile of our house. End result: Front-end damage due to spinning out after some bends in the road. I initially thought that it was just bumper bracket damage, so I took the bumper cover and bumper bar off, and then found more damage. I took it to a friend who owns a body shop, more on this later. We've decided not to fix it, as we have other cars we can drive instead. The car runs well and is driveable, but has some bent components in the front steering that make long distance drives out of the question. Asking $575 OBO – Buyer will have to have to tow/trailer it. We are located in ZIP code 15206. Send me a PM with your phone number and I will call you to discuss. This car has served us well over the years, it's great in the winter with 4WD and great for hauling all kinds of stuff. I've had to repair a few things and there are a couple of known issues with the car that I will disclose. Known issues: A/C evaporator has a pinhole leak, won't hold refrigerant (replace evaporator) Rear windshield wiper relay needs to be replaced, as the rear wiper is inop. ABS light on dash is illuminated, generally either a sensor or contact issue - never looked into it further. CV boot on front right wheel is cracked, grease still packed. Prior repairs: New axle/CV joint on front left wheel in Dec13 New brake pads all around Jul13 New AC condenser in 2009 Intake Manifold gasket in 2006 Fuel level sensor in 2004 Current condition: Interior cabin is very clean, was professionally detailed in Nov13. Have used plastic-tray floormats for the life of the vehicle, so carpets are very clean. Cargo area was used for hauling a couple of labradors around, so there's some dog hair, but it'll clean up nice, have used a plastic cargo liner for life of vehicle. Exterior is mostly in ok shape, has dings, scratches typical for a 16 year old car. No rust problems with this car. Engine runs smoothly, 5-speed gearbox is smooth, clutch is good, 4WD works just fine (was dis-engaged at time of collision) Front-end damage: Took the car to my buddy who owns a body shop, he said it would be (ballpark) $1400 to get the car repaired and back on the road Remove/replace front radiator support Replace steering rack/front-left tierod Replace front bumper bar, bumper bracket, bumper cover Replace front left headlight and turn signal Replace front left fender Repair hood Front-end alignment Pics of the car are here: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/sc...nOJJS1QyKUip-w https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/...f7ZPDqNpKwcfPw https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/...nl10wPe1Bk3-GA Interior pics: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/...t94TeMwj8PEqZQ https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/...jPy1wHrnsfO9mQ https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/...YDLEsp7sC1ikfw https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/...J3yYpgZXEwhmpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/...6ct18PwY8_Z7ug Front-end damage: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/...nVnh42btlVV-dA https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/...LKpGXRlb9Ne-ww Here is the picture with the bumper cover/bracket/bar removed: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/...qg4oxHUXdhVJGQ Another pic front bumper damage: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/...k9I-ts-Z5-qpeA |
